About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Colirium: Journal of Representational Studies and Represontology is an annual journal published by the Instituto Parajás, aimed at promoting communication, dissemination, and exchange of practices, reflections, and research results in the field of representation studies. The journal publishes original articles (at a national level) of high scientific quality, encouraging the authorship of research in the fields of Representology and Representational Studies. The goal is to foster dialogue with other areas of knowledge that explore representation.

It is important to note that the journal considers Representational Studies as the field that uses representation as a tool/methodology/research concept, such as Serge Moscovici's "Theory of Social Representations," Émile Durkheim's "Collective Representations," Jean Baudrillard's "Hyper-Representation," among others. Represontology, on the other hand, is the science that takes representations as its object, possessing its own methods and theories.

Mission

To provide, through online publication, relevant scientific works in the fields of Representational Studies and Represontology, creating a space for engagement (and debate) between authors and reviewers, and helping to document the development of the field.

Target Audience

The target audience consists of researchers, master’s and doctoral students, and professors engaged with theories, concepts, and the science of representation. Works from undergraduate students and graduates are accepted upon evaluation, but priority is given to works from master’s and doctoral degree holders.
